Hair Care Guide

Upon Receipt of Your Hair

Upon receiving your MALIDORE hair, inspect the hair before installation while keeping the bundle intact. This allows you to identify any concerns prior to use.

For added longevity, we recommend sealing the wefts prior to installation. This helps reinforce the weft and supports extended wear.

Before installing, a co-wash is strongly recommended for all MALIDORE virgin hair to restore moisture and optimize performance.

 

Washing & Preparation

  • Gently detangle the hair before washing

  • Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner

  • Cleanse, condition, and moisturize thoroughly to maintain softness and structure

  • Focus moisture on the mid-lengths and ends, as extensions do not receive natural scalp oils

 

Co-Wash Instructions (Recommended Before Installation)

  1. Co-wash using a moisturizing conditioner

  2. Rinse thoroughly with cool water

  3. Gently scrunch (for wavy or curly textures) to encourage pattern

  4. Allow the hair to air dry completely

  5. Install as desired

 

Ongoing Maintenance (All Textures)

  • Shampoo every 1–2 weeks

  • Use a shampoo with a pH no higher than 7

  • Cleanse gently to preserve the cuticle

  • Rinse with lukewarm water

  • Apply conditioner and detangle using a wide-tooth comb, starting at the ends

  • Rinse thoroughly

  • Air dry for best results

 

Daily Care & Styling

  • Use styling products minimally to avoid buildup

  • For wavy or curly textures, lightly mist with water to refresh

  • For a soft, hydrated finish, use water paired with a lightweight leave-in conditioner

  • Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb, working upward

  • Scrunch curls as needed to maintain definition

  • Allow hair to air dry before styling

 

Exercise & Swimming Care

When participating in workouts or swimming activities, extra moisture support helps maintain the hair’s balance and longevity.

 

  • Rinse hair with clean water after activity

  • Follow with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner as needed

  • Apply a lightweight leave-in conditioner to restore hydration

  • Allow hair to air dry and restyle as desired

 

Sleeping & Protection

Protect your hair during rest by wrapping it with a silk or satin bonnet or scarf. This helps preserve moisture, reduce friction, and maintain the integrity of your style.
